ECTOPIC PREGNANCY SPECIALISTS: HERE IS HOW THEY WORK

Ectopic pregnancy is the type of pregnancy that occurs when an egg that is fertilized, gets implanted outside the uterus and starts growing outside the main cavity of the uterus. The fertilization of an egg marks the onset of pregnancy. In normal cases, the fertilized egg attaches itself to the lining of the uterus.

There are different parts of the body where this type of ectopic pregnancy may occur. These body parts include the fallopian tube, ovary, abdominal cavity, lower part of the uterus, known as cervix, etc. Ectopic pregnancy specialists are specialized in trying to terminate the said pregnancy. However, it is very rare that the pregnancy can get through.

ECTOPIC PREGNANCY SPECIALISTS TELL THE SYMPTOMS AND CAUSES OF THE CONDITION

The symptoms may not be noticeable in the beginning, however, the usual symptoms of pregnancy include breast tenderness, nausea and missed periods. The pregnancy test would also be positive, however, the pregnancy unfortunately is not normal. As the pregnancy goes on, the signs and symptoms of the abnormal pregnancy become more noticeable.

The initial signs of ectopic pregnancy include light vaginal bleeding and pain in the pelvic area. If the leakage of blood happens in the fallopian tube, you may experience pain in the shoulder or an urge to have a bowel movement. The symptoms become more noticeable and will depend on where the blood is accumulated as well as which nerves are irritated.

If the fertilized egg continues to grow and develop in the fallopian tube, the tube may rupture. It is also likely that you may experience a high amount of bleeding in the abdomen.

You must immediately see a doctor if you experience any of these symptoms during your pregnancy.

The risk factors that may contribute to an ectopic pregnancy are as follows:

  1. If you are suffering from any sexually transmitted diseases, it may cause inflammation in your reproductive organs, and hence make pregnancy difficult.

  4. Smoking can also add to the risk of an ectopic pregnancy. If you smoke just before getting pregnant, it may cause difficulty in your pregnancy. The more one smokes, the greater the risk.
